In recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, The Tipsy Sketching Club is pleased to partner with PJs in the City to raise funds for BreastScreen ACT, the Canberra region’s primary provider of free screening mammograms for individuals aged 40 and over.

HOW DOES BREASTSCREEN ACT HELP?

Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer among Australian women. Early detection through screening gives women the best chance of successful treatment and recovery.

A screening mammogram is a simple test that looks for signs of breast cancer before it can be felt. Finding cancer early can reduce the need for more extensive treatment and improve health outcomes. Regular breast screening can save lives by detecting breast cancer early, often before any symptoms are noticed.

BreastScreen ACT offers free mammograms for women aged 40 years and over with no breast symptoms. Women aged 50 to 74 years are encouraged to attend every two years, helping to ensure any changes are detected as early as possible.

SESSION INFORMATION

Kicking off at 3pm, this life drawing session will have multiple models posing for 2-25 minutes across the afternoon, with breaks for drinks, food, and sharing. Come and settle in from 2:30pm to secure a seat and chat to the team from BreastScreen ACT about their services.

PJs in the City - 52 Alinga St Canberra City (corner of Alinga St and West Row).

ACCESS

PJs in the City is wheelchair accessible - entrance and venue space are all ground level without steps.

FOOD AND DRINKS

PJs in the City offer a wide range of delicious cocktails as well as local (and beyond!) beer, wine and spirits. A limited snack menu will be available. Whet your appetite here!

MATERIALS

If you have them - bring them! Basic art supplies will be offered for those without materials of their own.
